The King has gotten another job!

Not sure if anyone even reads here any more, but I want to keep this active since I do not have time to scrap book anymore and he will never let me take his picture. I have no idea where he gets this from *blink blink*.

He quit his job at Shoppers and within a week had another job. At the Spirit Halloween store here in the area. Its pretty cool and he is having a good time, right now they are painting and unloading boxes. He has been working lots of hours and I sure hope he is not dissapointed once again when he sees his paycheck. I cannot believe that people can be out there making it on hourly wage. There is no way you can support yourself let alone a fmaily with it.

Update to the troubles of a teen

So the King is working, only a few days a week, and they are taking taxes out and he is very unhappy with the American Way. Last summer he was working almost everyday and making about 70 bucks under the table. Now he makes about 26 bucks a day. He wants to quit, but I wont let him until he gets another job. He thinks I am mean. I give him money to go see Transformers II, The Hangover, and I give him money during the week for other things, all the while only asking for him to mow the yards, take out the garbage and clean his bathroom. The bathroom is the only thing I really demand that he does every other day. So I am definately mean, go figure.

He is only 16 years old, and he has had so many more experiences than I have. He golfs with Brian and I. He travels all over Virginia playing in pool tournaments. His curfew is 11 pm on the weekends. He can have people over at the house at almost any time. I am such the cool mom.

Some teenagers lock themselves in their room for days at a time. I am pretty lucky with that. King will come down and hang out with me, of course when it is suitable for him. But still, he will talk to me about everything except if he is dating someone. I hope that he is careful and that is all I can say to him. We still laugh all of the time, well with the exception of when I am yelling at him and trying to teach him to be an adult. He wants so bad for me to treat him like an adult, not a child, but he is not ready for that. He doesn't have too much common sense, unlike me. I could live on my own at his age, I know for a fact he would not survive. he still looks through a single lens instead of soaking in the entire concept and acting upon the correct way instead of what he wants to do.

I feel as though I am more of a parent now, than when he was little. it is such the never ending job!!!

Happy Sunday!

B and P do not mix well

Okay so we all know he is a teenager. But what I am going to focus on today is Bryant and Pool do not mix. It is never his fault, even if he is playing singles he still finds fault with everything else besides him. I am amazed to listen to him bitch and complain about the person he is playing with or against and it is a shame to have a son who cannot find fault within himself, but good also to know that I have raised a person who can go through life without always blaming himself for everything that goes on in life, relationship and work. Although I think that he will have a hard dose of reality soon.

Total Comfort food

  • Tater tot casserole.... I make mine different and I thought I would share...
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package frozen corn
  • minced onion fresh or dried, I used dried.
  • 1 8 oz sour cream (light works fine also)
  • I can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 bag of tater tots
  • Velvetta ( half of a large loaf or enough to cover your tater tots)
  • cheddar cheese grated .. for taste... can also be fat free
OKay so I have been manipulating a reciepe I found and I finally got it down..cook 1 lb ground beef, drain and rinse off fat. Add sour cream, onion, corn and cream of mushroom soup. mix and keep on medium heat while prepping the casserole dish. dont use a 13x9 pan, takes too much cheese to cover up. I used the large corning wear casserole dish.. maybe a 8 x 6?? on the bottom I put half a bag of tater tots. Then I placed sliced velvetta cheese over it.. do not make the slices too large becuase then the dish will be too salty. Then pour the ground beef mixture over the tatertots and velvetta. The you want to put the rest of the tater tots on the top, and bake at 350 for an hour. When there is 15 minutes left, add the shredded cheese to the top if you want. OMG it was the best tater tot casserole I have made, and I have been making this every month trying to make the perfect one. I added a bit of pepper to it. and omg it was gooooooood!!!!

Sunday

Hmm, dont really want to go into detail here about the idiot I became last night, but I had to swallow my pride and go to apologize to my son for going off on him last night, and when he said its alright, I said no it is not, and that I cannot take what he says so personally.

It was good!

Now for a breakfast of champions.. eggs bacon and sausage and pancakes.. yummo!
